Claim questions

Insurance Claim Assistance — Your Questions, Answered

What Orlando drivers ask us most before starting a claim.

Can my insurer make me use their shop?

No. Florida law gives you the right to choose your repair shop — the insurer can recommend a network facility, but the decision is yours. Tell the adjuster your vehicle is going to Collision Center Orlando and they must work with us. We handle the paperwork and communication from there, so steering pressure never becomes your problem.

Will you use OEM or aftermarket parts?

We push for OEM parts and follow the manufacturer's published repair procedures on every job. Some policies are written to pay for aftermarket or recycled parts; when that happens we tell you exactly what the insurer approved, explain the difference, and advocate for the parts your vehicle needs — especially where structural integrity or driver-assist systems are involved.

Who pays my deductible and when?

Your deductible is the portion of the repair you agreed to cover when you bought your policy. It's paid to the shop when you pick up your vehicle — the insurer pays the balance. If another driver was at fault, their insurance typically covers the full repair and no deductible applies. We confirm the exact number with you before work begins.

What is a supplement and how do you handle the adjuster?

A supplement is additional damage found once the vehicle is disassembled — very common in collision repair. We document it with photos and measurements, submit it to your adjuster, and negotiate the approval directly with the insurance company. You don't chase anyone; we keep you updated while the claim is adjusted to cover a safe, proper repair.

What should I photograph before towing?

If it's safe, photograph the scene, all four corners of your vehicle, close-ups of the damage, the other vehicle's plate, and the insurance information you exchange. Then call us at (321) 972-1549 — we'll arrange the tow to our shop and start your claim, so your car is only moved once.
